Brilliant Marketing Move

When compared to other large companies, Comcast’s customer service reputation has ranked one of the worst for several years. In addition, story after story has emerged of Comcast workers sleeping on the job, blowing up houses, and even committing murder.

So what does the company do in response to all the overwhelmingly negative PR and poor customer perception of the last decade? They re-brand everything “Xfinity.”

Listen to their radio and TV commercials. Take a look at their trucks driving down the street. The Comcast name has nearly been eliminated in favor of Xfinity. I think this is an effort to build their reputation from scratch and distance themselves from customers’ painful memories of “old” Comcast. If the trend continues, the company may soon drop the Comcast name altogether.
